One-task block
A protected block of one thing at a time, with everything else out of sight. Attention recovers when it stops being split.

About 25 minutes
One to three blocks a day
How to do it
- 1Choose one task and a length you can genuinely hold — start with twenty-five minutes.
- 2Phone in another room, notifications off, one tab if possible.
- 3When the block ends, stand up and look at something distant for a minute.
What the evidence says
Task-switching costs are well demonstrated in attention research. The timer length matters less than the protection.
