Lymphatic & massage

Scalp massage

A few minutes of firm fingertip circles across the scalp, dry or with oil before washing.

Scalp massage — illustrative
About 5 minutes
Several times a week, or before each wash

How to do it

  1. 1Use the pads of the fingers, not the nails.
  2. 2Work in small circles from the hairline back to the crown and nape.
  3. 3Four to five minutes, firm enough to move the scalp over the skull.

What the evidence says

Small studies on standardised scalp massage report changes in hair thickness over months, but the research is limited. Treat it as low-cost, pleasant, and unproven for hair growth.

Be careful if

  • Go gently on a sore, inflamed or broken scalp.
  • Sudden or patchy hair loss is worth a doctor's opinion.
