Combining Salicylic Acid

  • With Retinaldehyde — caution

    Using a retinoid and a BHA together can cause dryness and flaking. Consider using them on alternate nights.

  • With Glycolic Acid — caution

    Two exfoliating acids in one routine is usually more than skin needs and is a common cause of a compromised barrier.

  • With Glycolic Acid — caution

    Two exfoliating acids on the body in the same session can leave skin tight and reactive. Alternate days instead.

  • With tea-tree — caution

    Both can be drying on the scalp. If you use them together, keep one to twice a week.
